we seek equity and inclusion for the autism community
#itcantbezero is a platform to ignite peaceful conversation between parents and stakeholders, and invest in the future
of autism inclusion.
Let’s talk about how you can launch #itcantbezero in your community.
ABOUT US
We are passionate parents of autistic children. We come in peace.
We advocate night and day for our children’s right to learn, make friends, discover new interests, and experience the joys of youth. And while many diversity and inclusion efforts are well-meaning, it’s clear we still have a long way to go.
In February 2024—amid midwinter breaks, full-time jobs, therapies, and IEPs—we tried registering our children for extracurriculars: over 200 activities offered by our local school district in partnership with area businesses. How many were designed for the autistic community? Zero.
We asked about 1:1 aides, flexible options, and adaptive supports. Once again, the answers were: sorry, unfortunately, no.
So we started asking questions. We spoke with parents, teachers, parapros, and community members to have honest conversations about the barriers to inclusion. We reached out to disability advocates, autism organizations, libraries, and researchers. We gathered resources, stories, and solutions—and turned it all into a report in under 30 days.
Now we’re spreading the word.

History will show that asking questions creates problems and that money is the only language the powers-that-be respond to.
But what about the role of righteous peacemakers—the ones who fight for love, justice, and today?
We doubled down on autism inclusion by launching #ItCantBeZero in a public school district less than 20 miles from Detroit, MI.
