The U.S. Department of Education (Department) issued its 2024 determinations for States on their implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

In 2023, the Autism Alliance of Michigan conducted the Statewide Special Education Experience (SEE) Survey. This innovative online survey uniquely enhances our collective understanding of the state of special education in Michigan by elevating the lived experiences of parents, caregivers, and students. Through these perspectives, the SEE Survey identifies barriers and disparities that impact student success. Nearly 900 respondents completed this comprehensive survey about family and student experiences within the special education system.
